The first Davy Irvine Memorial Rinks Competition begins at Ulster Transport Bowling Club on Saturday 9th September 2023 at 12noon with a total of 10 teams competing for the first prize of £500.
Overview
There are two groups with 5 teams in each group playing 4 games on Saturday in a round robin format and the top two in each group will qualify for the Knockout Stage on Sunday.
All games in the Group Stage are 8 ends with a maximum of 90 minutes allowed per game and 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
If Group Points are equal, the final position is decided by Shot Difference, Shots For and Head to Head in that order.
There are no burnt ends - if the jack goes off the rink place it on the 2 metre mark.
The games in the Knockout Stage are 10 ends (Semi Finals) and 12 ends (3rd Place Playoff and Final).
The Winner of Group 1 plays the Runner Up in Group 2 and the Winner of Group 2 plays the Runner Up in Group 1 in the Knockout Semi Finals.

Prizes
The are prizes for the top 3 places in the event:
- 1st Place: £500 and 10 BowlsChat Sport Ranking Points
- 2nd Place: £160 and 7 BowlsChat Sport Ranking Points
- 3rd Place: £100 and 4 BowlsChat Sport Ranking Points

The Live Draw is at 11.30am on Saturday 9th September 2023.
One person from each team will select a playing card (Ace to 10) to choose their Team Number.
